Auckland is, as a moth is to light

First and foremost— the dress: day one.

We have been to Auckland twice, yet it feels like home. This metropolitan city is nestled between two harbors on the northern island— away from the fault zones of the south. The landscape is reminiscent of California, yet there is a gentle urban calm that blankets the landscape— a landscape half traveled by water; for water is the architecture of the Māori.

I met up with a friend today, Bill McKay, who we first met aboard the Serenity in 2020. Bill was a guest lecturer— his expertise in architectural design, astronomy and the Māori. He took me out of the metropolis and into the leaf section, where we sat, had drinks at his local spots and caught up on the time between.

There is something magical happening here and I can’t quite place my finger on it. I don’t know if is the architecture of simplicity or the sincerity of the people, but it it as unique as fingerprints are to humanity.

So here are my comments I hope they go through……..

The picture of Meredith. I really don’t know anything about picture composition but I though the blond hair against the black sky along with the blue in the dress and the blue harbour lights are both great components of the picture. BTW Great Picture

Second comment about the man at the bar, are they his sleeping night clothes or a warm up sit for a soccer match, also shoes to match? Almost sounds like Mitch Rider and Detroit wheels lyrics
