Sea Day (Day 7)

Two days at sea through two times zones on our to Sydney Australia. I love these daze between ports; a day to be lazy and enjoy the ship’s offerings. We have had some rolling seas over the past two sea days as the winds blowing up from the antarctic go unchecked. The air is a bit too cool for these two Floridians, so walking the promanade is not an option–that is better left to the northerners who parade by my corner office, as described by Michelle A. But the swells are lulling and we move like segments of a centipede down the hallways scattering through the ship to the many venues offered throughout the day.

We made a lacking attempt to join a stretching class, or maybe it was a stretch to think that we would do such a thing…. breakfast seemed like a much better option.

After breakfast we attended both the 10 & 11 o’clock Enrichment Series talks: “Destination Australia” by Dr. Ainsile Waldron, who is so riveting (only she will get that) and interjects her talks with jokes–– Q: What do you call a shipping container filled with snails? A: Escargo

The second talk was by World Affairs Lecturer, Ken Walsh, with insight to US Presidents he covered as a journalist and correspondent. His talks are insightful, current and will both flatter and shred his subjects. The juicy stuff.

After a day of in[Activity], it’s back to the room for a shower and change of wardrobe, then to the Cove Lounge for a cocktail where either a pianist or violinist fill the background with scores you recognize from movies and on this day, all 007 scores on the violin–awesome.

Then it’s off to dinner and and a show – Movin’ Out with songs of Billy Joel (musical performed on Broadway & The West End) by James Fox, then off to the piano bar for a nightcap. B&B – Hat’s off to you Johnny.

And of course – the Dress (#6)
